Need help with your care?
Frequently Asked Questions
The questions we hear most often — answered honestly, in plain language.
Do I need a referral to book at Hope Children's?
No. You can book directly — online, by phone, or on WhatsApp. A referral is not required. If you have been referred by another doctor, please let us know at the time of booking so we can request any relevant records.
Can I see the same doctor at every visit?
Yes. That is the medical home model we are built on. Dr. Shagaya or a named member of the Hope Children’s team will see your child at every visit, building a relationship and a clinical history that grows with your family.
Do you accept HMO?
We are currently working to onboard a number of HMO providers. Please contact us with details of your HMO and we will confirm whether we are currently on your panel, or advise on self-pay options with transparent pricing.
What are your consultation fees?
We believe in transparent pricing. Our consultation fees are available on request — please call or WhatsApp us for current rates. We do not charge surprise or unexplained fees.
What should I bring to our first appointment?
Your child’s immunisation card (if available). Any previous medical records, test results, or referral letters. A list of any medications your child is currently taking. And any questions you have — no matter how small.
What happens if my child is unwell and needs an urgent appointment?
Call us first. We hold same-day urgent care slots every day. If you believe your child needs to be seen immediately, call us directly or come in — and we will see them the same day. For life-threatening emergencies, call 112 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Is there parking available?
Yes. Parking is available on-site at our Kado location.
What languages do you consult in?
Our consultations are conducted in English. We are sensitive to the communication needs of all families and will do our best to ensure every parent fully understands what is being discussed.
